Advance CMM Programmer (Mitutoyo Expert-NPI) (Coalville LE67 1TT)

Preci Spark is seeking a highly experienced and fast-moving Advanced CMM Programmer, with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on CMM programming experience, including at least 5 years working specifically with Mitutoyo CMM machines. This role sits within our Engineering team and is critical to our ability to deliver precise, high-quality components on aggressive timelines during New Product Introduction (NPI) phases. The ideal candidate combines expert-level programming skills with the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a demanding NPI setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rapidly develop, optimize, and validate CMM programs for Mitutoyo CMMs using MCOSMOS software.

  • Translate complex GD&T and technical drawings into precise and efficient inspection programs.

  • Perform first-article and in-process inspections under tight deadlines.

  • Calibrate and maintain CMM equipment for maximum uptime and reliability.

  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality to provide on-demand inspection solutions.

  • Create clear inspection reports and non-conformance documentation.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on speed, efficiency, and inspection accuracy.

  • Health, Safety and Environment compliance.

  • Rotating Shifts (37 hours): Mon to Weds 6.00am to 2.00pm – 2.00pm to 10.00pm, Thurs 6.00am to 1.00pm – 1.00pm to 8.00pm, Fri 6.00am to 12.00pm – 12.00pm to 06.00pm.

    Required Experience & Qualifications:

    Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience programming and operating CMMs.

    Minimum 5 years of direct experience with Mitutoyo CMMs and MCOSMOS software.

    Demonstrated ability to work at high speed without sacrificing precision.

    Advanced understanding of GD&T, tight tolerance work, and blueprint interpretation.

    Experience with all hand measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, etc.) and their proper use in inspection.

    Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Metrology, or a related field, or equivalent completed apprenticeship.

    Proven success in fast-paced industries such as aerospace, medical devices, or automotive.

    Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards.

    Strong troubleshooting skills and a sense of urgency in problem resolution.

    Excellent communication, documentation, and team collaboration skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience implementing high-speed inspection workflows in production environments.

    Proficiency with Siemens NX for model-based inspection programming.

    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

    Familiarity with other metrology equipment such as laser scanners, vision systems, or portable CMM arms.

    Experience training or mentoring junior programmers or operators.
