An excellent opportunity for an experienced Stainless Steel TIG Welder / Fabricator to join a well-established company.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience

Location: Shildon, County Durham DL4

Working Hours: 37.5 Per Week - (09:00am – 17:00pm)

Holiday Entitlement: 33 Days (25 plus statutory bank holidays)

All hours additional to the 37.5 are paid at overtime rate of 1.5X.

About The Company:

They are a UK leading organisation specialising in the Manufacture, Installation, Service & Maintenance of Purified Water Systems predominantly for the Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices and Health & Beauty industries throughout the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a Stainless-Steel TIG Welder/ Fabricator to join the company, supporting multiple projects within their manufacturing facility based in Shildon, Co Durham.

About The Role:

As a suitably qualified and experienced TIG welder you will be involved throughout the manufacturing processes from the initial design phase through to the fabrication of the mechanical installations and process pipework. The range of work produced is varied but will specifically include fabricating Stainless-Steel Skids utilising Box section, Plate and Process pipework.

The work will also involve the usage of generic workshop equipment including band saws, pillar drills, hand and power tools. This role will involve working with minimal supervision using AutoCAD drawings to produce the work to a high standard. Inspection experience is desirable but not essential.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will come from an Engineering/ Manufacturing background. A good understanding of Mechanical principles would be a distinct advantage due to the nature of the components involved within the system. Specialist product training will be provided for the right person. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with supporting qualifications (i.e NVQ 3/ Weld Codings) and be willing to demonstrate competence. Previous experience of GMP validation documentation would also be an advantage as the successful candidate would be required to assist with regards to Welding documentation such as; Weld Maps, Weld Logs, Test Weld Coupons and Welding Inspections.

Experience or qualifications in Process pipefitting will be considered essential and the successful candidate must have experience in working with sanitary pipework for the Pharmaceutical industry. The candidate must have had previous codings to ASME IX standard in Manual TIG and in a position to pass another. Manual and Orbital Welding Codings to be provided for the long-term candidate. Experience with the training of younger members of staff would be highly beneficial. This role has good opportunities for career progression with roles such as “Team Leader” or “Head of Manufacturing” for the right and committed individual.
