About the Role:
Currently an exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Warehouse Team Leader to join and support Operations team.
The role is responsible for maintaining the efficient and safe storage and receipt, storage and dispatch of raw materials and finished products. The Team Leader supervises warehouse staff, tracks inventory, monitors and reports any issues and provides data for management reports.
Warehouse Team Leader - Duties to include:
• Maintaining computerised administration, stock inventory and retrieval systems.
• Performing computer system input and maintain Inventory Management System
• Inspecting and approving the quality and quantity of goods or equipment received and shipped.
• Supervising staff, developing the team and setting daily tasks.
• Delivering an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand.
• Ensuring the delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production schedules.
• Ensuring stock movements are recorded accurately and stock is held in a clean and tidy manner.
• Supporting organising and participating in monthly stock takes.
• Ensuring the team works as per company rules, processes, and regulations.
• Identifying any systems improvements and making suitable recommendations.
• Ensuring hazardous materials are stored in accordance with Health & Safety good practice.
• Ensuring staff comply to health, Safety and environmental regulations and working safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment.
• Where possible resolving any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse.
• Liaising with internal departments, suppliers, and transport companies as and when required in a timely manner.
• Ensuring that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
• Operating fork-lift and associated equipment.
Warehouse Team Leader - Key skills / abilities:
• Proven experience as a Warehouse Team Leader with experience of supervising and motivating a team.
• An appropriate warehousing qualification would be advantageous.
• Experience of working in a GMP or medical device facility would be advantageous.
• A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements.
• Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good IT skills, in particular spreadsheets and databases and a knowledge of Warehouse Inventory Systems.
• Certification in Dangerous Goods Handling would be beneficial.
• Good planning skills and able to meet targets and deadlines.
• Assertive, resilient and welcomes change.
• Counterbalance Forklift licence is required.
