Salary: £50,250

Our client is seeking qualified Electrical and Mechanical Technicians to join their Estates Maintenance team working across a large, complex healthcare environment - helping to ensure critical hospital services remain operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Working within a multi-skilled engineering team, you will undertake a combination of planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installations across a diverse range of building services and specialist healthcare engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical plant and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex faults across a broad range of estates systems.
  • Maintain and repair generators, boilers, ventilation systems, lighting and power installations, fire alarms, medical gas systems, water services and associated controls.
  • Respond to emergency situations including power failures, fire alarm activations, lift entrapments and critical system failures.
  • Monitor and adjust Building Management Systems (BMS) where required.
  • Complete maintenance records, risk assessments and permit-to-work documentation.
  • Liaise with contractors, hospital departments and clinical teams to coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Support, mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
  • Participate in the Estates on-call rota and shift working arrangements.
About You

To be successful, you will have significant practical experience working on complex building services within a healthcare, commercial, industrial or similarly critical environment.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Completed apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / City & Guilds
  • 18th Edition (Electrical bias only)
  • ONC, HNC or equivalent recognised technical qualification in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical and building services systems.
  • Experience of fault finding, maintenance and repair of complex plant and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, safe systems of work and risk assessment processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and manufacturers' information.
  • Experience working within a multi-skilled maintenance environment.
  • Good IT skills, including the use of maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
