The successful candidate should have demonstrable practical skills, a high level of manual dexterity, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work successfully both within a team and independently. With a strong work ethic, you will have good interpersonal and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. Knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies within a highly regulated environment (e.g. medical aerospace, defence) would be ideal, however are happy to consider candidates who instead may have had experience in a production role in the medical industry who are keen to learn new skills. This is a great opportunity to learn to assemble electro-mechanical micro-components under a microscope.

About Us

Amber Therapeutics is developing a closed-loop neuromodulation therapy able to treat mixed urinary incontinence for the first time and transform the clinical outcome of a very large untreated patient population. Amber’s approach leverages the intelligent capability of its next-generation neuromodulation platform, the Picostim-DyNeuMo, to create ‘synthetic reflex arcs’ that can sense, interpret, adapt and respond to a patient’s individual signals thereby restoring normal physiological function. This principle can be used in broader functional disorders of the nervous system that the Company’s academic partnerships are exploring.

What We Offer

This is a chance to be part of a ground-breaking team creating life-changing therapies for millions of people globally. You join us at an exciting phase of our development, as we expand the team and accelerate towards our first Pivotal Trial.

In addition, we offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, private healthcare, income protection, life assurance, company pension scheme, equity scheme and 27 days holiday (plus bank holidays).

Amber Therapeutics is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We look forward to hearing from you.

You may also have experience in the following: Production Operator, Production Assembly, Production Operative, Machine Operator, Production Assistant, Operator, Support Technician, Production Engineer, Machinist, Technical Operator, Packer etc.

Where to Advertise Medical Technology Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising medical technology jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The medtech candidate pool spans biomedical engineers, regulatory affairs specialists, clinical scientists, software engineers working within IEC 62304 and MDR frameworks, imaging scientists and commercial professionals with deep healthcare sector knowledge. General job boards consistently conflate medical technology with broader healthcare, pharmaceutical and IT roles — producing high application volumes but low candidate quality for specialist medtech positions. This guide, published by MedicalTechnologyJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise medical technology roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

How Many Medical Technology Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Medical Technology Job?

If you’re pursuing a career in medical technology, it can feel like the toolkit is endlessly long: imaging systems, data analysis software, regulatory platforms, testing frameworks, prototyping tools, CAD, quality management systems, signal processing libraries and more. Scroll job boards or LinkedIn, and it’s easy to think you need to know every tool under the sun just to secure an interview. Here’s the honest truth most hiring managers won’t explicitly tell you: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every tool — they hire you because you understand the underlying principles and can apply the right tool in the right context to solve real problems. Tools matter — absolutely — but they are secondary to problem-solving ability, clinical awareness, engineering rigour and the ability to deliver safe, reliable solutions. So how many medical technology tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most job seekers, the answer is far fewer than you think. This article explains what employers really want, which tools are core, which are role-specific, and how to focus your learning so you look confident, competent and end-game ready.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Medical Technology Job Applications (UK Guide)

Medical technology (MedTech) is one of the most dynamic and high-impact sectors in the UK — spanning medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, AI-assisted systems, wearables, imaging, robotics and clinical software. At the same time, hiring managers are exceptionally selective because MedTech roles demand technical excellence, regulated safety awareness, clinical context and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Whether you’re applying for roles in R&D, engineering, quality & regulatory, clinical validation, product management or software development for medical systems, hiring managers don’t read every word of your CV. They scan it quickly — often deciding within the first 10–20 seconds whether to continue reading. This guide breaks down exactly what hiring managers look for first in medical technology applications — and how you can make your CV, portfolio and cover letter stand out in the UK market.
