Role Overview

A leading healthcare service provider is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to perform on-site medical equipment maintenance, repairs, and asset management in a hospital setting. The role involves ensuring equipment reliability, supporting clinical teams, and meeting service performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on medical equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines.
Diagnose and carry out repairs on a variety of medical devices.
Ensure all service documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with operational procedures.
Support the site manager/team leader in achieving service level agreements and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide technical support to hospital staff, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations.
Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure equipment is properly calibrated and functional.
Travel to multiple healthcare sites as required for maintenance and repairs.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards within the hospital environment.
Liaise with OEM service teams and hospital management to coordinate service activities.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

Certified OEM training in medical device servicing.
HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, or Biomedical Engineering.
2–5 years of experience in a UK healthcare setting, working with medical equipment.
Strong customer relationship management skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Familiarity with national and local regulatory standards for medical equipment.
Experience working in clinical environments with direct patient interaction.

Desirable:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
