We are looking for a Pharmacist to join our team.
Our pharmacies are part of a group of fourteen branches, with six in Guernsey and eight in Jersey, which is owned by the Channel Islands Cooperative Society, a locally-owned cooperative group with food stores and healthcare teams. We're looking for an enthusiastic Pharmacist to join our warm and friendly team. We have a genuine, patient orientated approach to our care and we pride ourselves on striving for excellence in all that we do for our patients and community.
Direct responsibility for the following

  1. Dispensing of medicines, appliances and other medical devices as per Code of Ethics.
  2. In addition to dispensing drugs, treatments and providing advice, you need to ensure treatments are compatible, liaise with doctors and supervise pharmacy assistants and dispensers, as well as numerous other ad hoc tasks.
  3. Providing information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage.
  4. Providing specialised services to help patients manage conditions.
  5. Advising patients and selling appropriate OTC medicines.
  6. Advising and counselling in treatment of minor ailments.
  7. You will control and give correct advice and information to aid patients to both maintain and improve their health.
  8. Analysing prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
  9. Co-ordinating teams and delivering all services that form part of the pharmacy service.
  10. Ordering pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies and drugs, maintaining stock and storing in a correct an appropriate manner.
  11. You will work both in accordance with the standard operating procedures governing the pharmacy, and within the legal and ethical guidelines necessary to carry out your role.
  12. Maintaining level of knowledge in line with General Pharmaceutical Council expectations of continued professional development.
