Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Starting Salary: £40,000 P/A - £45,000 P/A depending on experience. Working hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
Benefits: Opportunity for progression, 25 days + 8 Bank Holidays, 5% employer / 3% employee pension contribution, Uniform & PPE as well as designated parking.

The Company

An exciting days-based opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, self-motivated and multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join a rapidly expanding medical devices manufacturer.

Reporting 33% year on year growth over the last 12 months the company are a leading innovator of specialist medical solutions that help transform the lives of patients.

This is a truly exciting time to help improve a business that is on the verge of accelerated expansion, supported by the Managing Director your first five months will be spent learning about the machines and processes within an existing manufacturing site and then progressing to help management transfer the machines to a brand new, purpose-built factory that will enable increased production of patented technology.

In addition to being responsible for maintenance and engineering on this site you will also have the opportunity of being the site lead for Health and Safety.

This will create further opportunities for long term progression and development, the more motivated you are to expand skills and knowledge the more the company will support you to do so.

The Site: Brand new purpose-built facility that produces high volumes of lightweight materials.

Machinery List: Heat Welding Machines, RF Welding Machines, Conveyors, Wrapping machinery, Packaging machinery and other bespoke equipment for site demands.

The Role: Multi-Skilled Maintenance engineer.

  • Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a 50/50 split between Electrical and Mechanical.

  • Reliability and continuous improvement work involving re-allocation and installation of new machinery as well as formulating a reliable maintenance strategy.

  • Health & Safety lead on site.

  • Fault finding with PLC’s, Multi-Meters as well as schematics and visual inspection.

  • Breakdown maintenance, diagnosing problems and repairing/replacing faulty components.

  • PPM Maintenance, carrying out routine maintenance and servicing equipment.

  • Mechanical: Pumps, Solenoid Valves, Pneumatics/Hydraulics, Bearings, Rollers, Gearboxes, Motors and other mechanical repairs.

  • Electrical: Three phase motors, Sensors, Proximity switches, Relays, safety circuits, control panels as well as LV equipment.

    Entry Requirements

  • Qualifications: City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC Level 3 in Electrical Maintenance or Installation preferable ideally gained through a recognised apprenticeship.

  • Essential Experience: Minimum 10 Years of experience as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a high-speed manufacturing environment, ideally Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Food or FMCG or similar bespoke manufacturing environment.

  • Essential Skills: Electrical and Mechanical skills required with a strong competency in fault finding and repairing machinery.

  • Essential Characteristics: Self-motivated, proactive and demonstrates good initiative and creativity to problem solving.

  • Highly desirable: Installation and commissioning experience of machinery, 18th Edition, H&S Qualifications and experience fault finding on PLC’s.
