A fantastic ASD specialist school in Ascot is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Mental Health Assistant to join their team. The school caters for children and young people aged 4 to 16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), many of whom also experience additional mental health challenges such as anxiety, sensory needs, and social communication difficulties.

About the Role:
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional wellbeing of students. Therapy is an essential part of daily life for children with ASD - it helps them to understand their emotions, develop coping strategies, improve social interaction, and build confidence in a safe, structured environment. You will work alongside a skilled team of therapists, psychologists, and teaching staff to deliver consistent, compassionate, and child-centred care.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an aspiring therapist, educational psychologist, or SEN teacher to gain first-hand experience in a supportive and specialist setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting children and young people with Autism and associated mental health needs
Working as a Mental Health Assistant within the classroom and during therapy sessions
Assisting therapists and psychologists with the delivery of therapeutic programmes
Providing 1:1 and small group emotional and behavioural support
Promoting a positive, nurturing, and structured environment

Mental Health Assistant - Ascot
Full-time, Monday to Friday | 8.30am - 4.00pm

£90-£110 per day
