About the role
An experienced Electronics Hardware Design Engineer is required to join a global engineering manufacturer developing advanced electronic control technologies used within demanding applications.
This role would suit someone with a strong background in electronic hardware design who enjoys taking products from concept through to validation and production.
Candidates from automotive, aerospace, defence, medical devices, industrial controls, consumer electronics and other highly regulated industries are encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities
* Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits and hardware solutions.
* Produce schematics, component selections, BoMs and supporting documentation.
* Carry out electronic simulations, thermal analysis and worst-case analysis.
* Support PCB layout activities and review PCB designs.
* Develop and maintain DFMEA documentation.
* Support validation, testing and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
* Use laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, probes and power supplies to investigate and verify designs.
* Ensure products meet quality, reliability and cost requirements.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and design standards.
About you
You'll ideally have:
* 6+ years' experience in electronic hardware design.
* Experience designing analogue and digital circuits.
* Strong schematic capture experience.
* Experience supporting PCB design and layout.
* Knowledge of EMC and ESD principles.
* Experience with electronic simulation and analysis tools.
* Familiarity with MATLAB and engineering analysis software.
* Experience with DFMEA/FMEA methodologies.
* Practical laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, probes and power supplies.
* Previous experience within automotive, aerospace, defence, medical devices, industrial controls, consumer products or similar engineering environments.
Desirable
* Xpedition experience.
* ISO26262 and FMEDA knowledge.
* ECU experience.
