Head of Resourcing, Sales at Cavendish Maine

Why This Role?

  • A perfect step up for a Senior Account Handler looking to become an Account Executive—without the pressure of cold calling or pipeline-building.
  • Work with some of the most innovative and high-growth MedTech businesses in the UK, from cutting-edge startups to established scale-ups.
  • No slow-moving renewals—every conversation is about growth, risk, and protection in a fast-evolving sector.
  • Be part of a broking business that mirrors the MedTech industry—agile, innovative, and forward-thinking.

The Role

This is your opportunity to work with game-changing MedTech companies, ensuring they have the insurance solutions they need to scale, secure investment, and bring groundbreaking products to market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand & Advise: Get to the heart of MedTech clients' risk challenges and tailor solutions that fit their business model.
  • Design Bespoke Insurance Programs: Structure policies that align with each company’s stage—whether they’re launching, scaling, or preparing for regulatory approval.
  • Highlight Gaps in Cover: Identify risks that fast-moving MedTech businesses may not have considered.
  • Navigate Complex Global Policies: Many MedTech firms operate internationally—ensure compliance and robust coverage across jurisdictions.
  • Act as a Strategic Partner: Help clients understand risk beyond insurance—offering insights that support their growth and resilience.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep up with MedTech market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 3 years of commercial insurance broking experience, ideally in a Senior Handler/Advisor or Account Executive role.
  • Strong knowledge of core coverages—Professional Indemnity, Medical Malpractice, Public & Products Liability, Employers’ Liability, Cyber, and Business Interruption.
  • Passion for working with innovative, high-growth businesses.
  • Confidence in advising founders, investors, and executive teams—tailoring insurance discussions to their unique needs.
  • A natural problem-solver, able to think on your feet and anticipate challenges.
  • Cert CII qualification an advantage, but willing to work towards. Acturis experience is a plus.

Why Join?

Work with cutting-edge MedTech innovators—helping to protect businesses that are shaping the future of healthcare.

Career Growth—a role with real influence in a specialist, high-growth sector.

Strong Earning Potential—a competitive salary, bonus, and exceptional benefits.

A Flexible, Hybrid Role—work in a way that suits you while making an impact.

Why Medical Technology Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Medical technology (medtech) is transforming healthcare in the UK — from wearable sensors to AI diagnostic tools, from surgical robots to telemedicine platforms. Advances in hardware, software, data and connectivity are enabling more personalized, efficient and accessible care. But with great power comes great responsibility. As medical devices and health technologies enter hospitals, clinics and consumers’ homes, professionals in this domain must master much more than engineering and algorithms. They must also understand law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design. That is, medtech careers are now deeply multidisciplinary. In this article, we explore why medical technology careers in the UK are becoming more multidisciplinary, how these five allied fields now intersect with medtech work, and what job-seekers and employers should do to succeed in this evolving ecosystem.

Medical Technology Team Structures Explained: Who Does What in a Modern MedTech Department

Medical technology (MedTech) spans everything from wearable health devices and surgical robots to diagnostic imaging, in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), digital therapeutics, AI-driven triage, and Class I–III medical devices. In the UK, the sector touches NHS care pathways, private providers, and global markets—with stringent expectations for safety, clinical evidence, cybersecurity, and data privacy. As ventures scale from prototype to regulated product, clear team structures become the difference between promising pilots and licensed, market-ready devices. Whether you’re hiring your first clinical specialist or applying for a role in QA/RA, this guide explains who does what in a modern MedTech department, how functions collaborate across the product lifecycle, UK-typical skill sets and salaries, common pitfalls, and best practices for building a resilient team.
