The Highly Specialist Oncology Clinical Trials Pharmacist provides expert leadership and oversight of pharmacy services for oncology and haematology clinical trials (OHCT) at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT). Working jointly with the Early Phase Lead Clinical Trials Pharmacist, the post holder ensures compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), manages pharmaceutical aspects of trials, evaluates cost-effectiveness, and supports the safe and efficient delivery of investigational medicines. The role also contributes to research governance, service development, and staff training.

Leadership & Service Management: Lead pharmacy support for oncology and haematology clinical trials, including trial setup, approval, and delivery.

Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to GCP, GMP, and relevant UK/EU legislation for investigational medicinal products.

Clinical Practice: Provide expert pharmaceutical care to trial patients, offering specialist advice to clinicians, investigators, and research staff.

Training & Development: Deliver and evaluate training for pharmacy and research staff involved in clinical trials.

Financial & Resource Management: Assess cost implications and oversee invoicing, contracts, and resource allocation for trials.

Quality & Evaluation: Monitor performance, lead audits, prepare reports, and support regulatory inspections.

Research & Innovation: Contribute to clinical research, audit, and the development of new protocols, guidelines, and best practices.

Provide joint leadership for oncology and haematology clinical trial pharmacy services at GSTT.

Manage setup, approval, and delivery of new and ongoing clinical trials.

Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective dispensing and record-keeping for investigational products.

Monitor service quality, undertake audits, and prepare reports on performance and compliance.

• UK-MPharm degree or equivalent
  
• Current GPhC registration

• Experience of providing pharmaceutical input into clinical trials services
  
• Demonstrate attendance at relevant ICH/GCP training
  
• Demonstrate an understanding of the clinical trial process, with regard to the setting up and the documentation required to meet legislative requirements
  
• Demonstrate knowledge of Clinical Trials legislation
  
• Dispensing and checking experience in dispensary and aseptic/technical services
  
• Previous experience in delivering training and education at post graduate level
  
• Experience of multidisciplinary health services research
  
• Experience in management of pharmacy staff in a dispensing or technical services department
  
• Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice
  
• Knowledge of clinical audit and it's role in pharmacy and medicine
  
• Demonstration of active participation in multi-disciplinary health care research
