Candid HSC is seeking a skilled and certified Digital Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, The post-holder will be responsible for the configuration, development, and optimisation of the client NHS Trust's Epic Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.


Required: Epic Care link Certifications mandatory. Epic Certification with at least 5 years after certification is mandatory. Other preferred epic certifications: Cupid, Beacon, Willow, My Chart, Ambulatory. Other EPR consultants with similar experience can be considered.


We are looking for someone who can join within 30 days.


Requirements

  • Responsible for the design and development of a new to NHS, Trust-wide information technology system and for implementing directly broad changes to clinical and administrative practices and policies across the hospital affecting all clinical staff at every grade.
  • Communicate regularly with relevant Trust staff to ensure that the application(s) meets their service delivery and business needs in line with new and agreed best practice processes
  • Provide specialist advice to Trust staff or colleagues on the capabilities and optimisation potential of the Epic system
  • Arrange, co-ordinate and lead meetings between senior Trust staff and/or your colleagues to discuss workflows and/or areas of concern and/or take notes of any action points.
  • Analyse and document simple to complex clinical and administrative workflows, information, data collection and/or reporting requirements.
  • Negotiate and persuade senior Trust staff to accept changes to working practices so that they improve efficiency, patient flow and/or patient experience
  • Ensure that the system is configured to meet new ‘best practice’ ways of working, in order to achieve cost‑saving benefits and improved workflow processes, whilst working to relevant legal and regulatory frameworks
  • Investigate end users’ preferences and design and configure databases as part of the configuration process
  • Establish processes and procedures for changes to the application and document these changes.
  • Log issues as they arise and liaise with colleagues and Analysts from Epic to achieve resolution and update the appropriate systems accordingly. Escalate issues through the Senior Application Analyst or Team Leader/Application Co‑ordinator where necessary
  • Produce regular and accurate reports on configuration progress on a weekly basis to the Senior Application Analyst or Team Leader/Application Co‑ordinator as appropriate
  • Participate in end‑user training of the application and be responsible for training others in specific areas of the build work which is not covered during the formal eHospital trainer‑led training sessions
  • Demonstrate/present complex Epic build work to own team, other teams and Trust staff, including at senior and director level, in an easy‑to‑understand format
  • Be an expert in your application areas(s) and troubleshoot problems and address questions from end users regarding the application(s)
  • Maintain regular communication with other application teams
  • Responsible for own area of work, working autonomously to plan and organize workload to meet multiple and often conflicting deadlines
  • Work with Instructional Designers to ensure that they are aware of developments for training purposes
  • Work with Instructional Designers to incorporate feedback from training sessions into future developments or make urgent changes to build as appropriate
  • Chase colleagues and Trust staff to provide information in a timely fashion to enable you to meet tight deadlines.
  • Self‑teach from Epic manuals to solve problems in build/reporting/testing
  • Produce test plans for application system testing, ensuring adherence to ISO and other relevant standards
  • Meet with other application teams to analyse issues occurring during testing and facilitate and/or negotiate appropriate solutions
  • Participate in the coordination and testing of new updates and releases
  • Research, design, agree and update support policies and procedures, for example: business continuity access plans for Epic downtime
  • Be responsible for all equipment and resources within own area and in that of areas being visited for testing of high value equipment
  • Perform gap analysis within application team(s) and/or Trust departments and negotiate with the relevant stakeholders to overcome obstacles
  • Ensure end‑users are given the appropriate levels of access and security to the system as defined by their job role
  • General education to degree level, equivalent professional qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Epic CareLink Certifications mandatory
  • Multiple certifications in Epic.
  • Minimum 5 year of EPIC implementation and support experience.
  • Experience of delivering projects to tight deadlines
  • Experience of delivery of benefits from the implementation of technology / services
  • Open to travel up to 80% of contracted time (when needed)
  • Multiple Epic certifications. Experience with other EPR systems will be a bonus.
  • Experience of working with clinical staff, medical consultants and other senior managers
