Bespak is seeking 2 Shift Managers in an onsite position for the Holmes Chapel site, CW4 8BE. The salary for this permanent role is £47k to £55k. Our enhanced benefits package includes 25 days leave plus bank holidays, discretionary annual bonus, generous 10% pension contribution, onsite parking, and medical / dental / health / life assurance.

Working Pattern – Traditional Continental Shift Pattern of 2/2/3, working 2 weekends every 28-day cycle.

With over 350 employees, we are continuing to grow and are currently going through a period of significant site expansion. We are investing heavily to increase our capacity for developing and manufacturing sustainable pMDIs (Asthma Inhalers). With greener propellants we are able to meet the evolving standards of the industry, while providing comprehensive development, manufacturing, filling, and finishing solutions for a range of medical devices, including SMIs, DPIs, nasal sprays, and medical check valves.

As an Aerosols Shift Manager, you will be at the heart of our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, providing clear direction to your manufacturing team. You will be responsible for leading, motivating and developing your team to help drive daily performance and to meet production schedules, cost targets, and operational standards. You will also champion the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance (Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)) and Health and Safety (HSE) within your area.

The successful candidates will have an excellent understanding of pharmaceutical business, good business acumen and the ability to write technically, investigate and report abnormalities whilst managing and leading a manufacturing team to deliver production schedules and make informed decisions in a fast paced, ever changing working environment.

As a Shift Manager, your duties will include:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing your operational team.

  • Driving performance to meet daily production schedules.

  • Managing resources to achieve targets efficiently and meet planned cycle times

  • Championing the highest standards of Health and Safety compliance

  • Upholding strict GMP and all regulatory standards.

  • Complete GMP documentation, adhering to GMP and GDP standards.

  • Using Lean tools to drive business improvements related to people processes and products

    Shift Manager key skills and experience:

  • A degree in a scientific or technical discipline.

  • A knowledge of Aerosol manufacturing processes is highly advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Strong experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is essential (Grade D and above) and any working knowledge / understanding of pressurised systems, , CIP systems, DCS/SCADA interfaces and HVAC is beneficial.

  • A minimum of three years in a supervisory role

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and build teams.

  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to absorb high volumes of information multitasking.

  • Effective decision-making and strong technical report writing skills.

    Holmes Chapel is a beautiful village in Cheshire with excellent transport links via its railway station on the Crewe-Manchester Line, proximity to the motorway network and Manchester Airport. The National Parks of the Peak District, Lake District and Eryri (Snowdonia) are within easy reach. The village has a population of nearly 7,000 and offers various amenities, including supermarkets, shops, restaurants, schools, and a GP practice.
