We are recruiting for a Senior R&D Engineer to join a start-up Medical Device company who are developing an advanced and innovative wound dressing platform to substantially improve the clinical outcome for patients with Chronic and Complex Wounds.

You will work closely with technical experts and our executive team to develop, implement, and evaluate engineering solutions to key challenges. You will take technical ownership of specific subsystems critical to clinical operation, user experience, or device safety and performance.

Typical tasks will include;

⬢ Lead the design, development, and experimental testing according to international regulatory requirements.
⬢ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including regulatory, manufacturing, clinical and external partners to ensure device feasibility and compliance.
⬢ Conduct material selection, device prototyping, and performance evaluations.
⬢ Develop and execute validation and verification protocols in accordance with industry standards.
⬢ Analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to optimize device performance.
⬢ Stay updated on regulatory requirements and quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA) to ensure compliance throughout development.
⬢ Support intellectual property activities and assist in patent applications related to innovations.
⬢ Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative R&D environment

Skills & Experience
⬢ A bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or natural sciences or equivalent.
⬢ Experience in R&D and product design, within the medical device industry.
⬢ Be flexible, engaged, goal-oriented and reliable.
⬢ Thrive in a small team environment and show excellent self-motivation and independence.
⬢ Be willing to learn and develop new skills on the job.
⬢ Proven track record in device design, testing, and validation processes.
⬢ Understand experiment design to draw robust, statistically significant conclusions.
⬢ Knowledge of regulatory pathways and standards for medical devices.
⬢ Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
⬢ Robust communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
