STEM Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Senior Product Development Scientist for a permanent position based in Edinburgh & the Lothians, Scotland. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate design and development projects within the Medical Devices sector, ensuring projects are completed on time and to high standards. Key responsibilities include planning and delivering product development studies, analysing complex data, leading collaborative investigations, preparing comprehensive documentation, and mentoring junior staff. They will also oversee equipment validation, maintain laboratory compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, all within regulated environments.

Degree in a relevant scientific discipline; higher degree preferred

Extensive experience in medical device or regulated laboratory environments

Proven track record in assay development, optimisation, and product lifecycle management

Experience in recording, reporting, and regulatory compliance such as design control

Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills

Knowledge of immunohaematology techniques, cell culture, and protein characterisation

Competent in data analysis tools, statistical interpretation, and technical reporting
