Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Are you an experienced Laboratory Technician with a passion for Quality Control and compliance? We are recruiting on behalf of our client for aQC Laboratory Technician to join their established Quality team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory testing experience who thrives in a regulated environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of product quality, safety, and compliance.

The Role

As a QC Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for supporting product quality through the testing, analysis, and release of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods. Working within a GMP-regulated laboratory, you will play a key role in ensuring all products meet stringent quality and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Quality Control testing of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods in line with approved specifications.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine testing of medical devices to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Review, record, and maintain accurate laboratory data and documentation in accordance with GMP requirements.
  • Investigate and immediately escalate Out of Specification (OOS), Out of Trend (OOT), and non-conforming results.
  • Support laboratory investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions where required.
  • Participate in method validation, verification, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and fit for use.
  • Support annual product stability testing programmes and trending activities.
  • Maintain retain samples and associated documentation.
  • Work closely with Production, QA, and R&D teams to support product quality and development activities.
  • Adhere to GMP, ISO 13485, and company quality management system requirements.
  • Maintain high laboratory standards through compliance with 5S, housekeeping, and health & safety procedures.
About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Previous experience within a Quality Control Laboratory environment.
  • Experience testing products within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, or regulated industries.
  • Good understanding of GMP principles and laboratory documentation practices.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and medical device regulations would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience handling investigations, deviations, CAPAs, or OOS results is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
