Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Job Summary

The HEMA Lead United Kingdom leads Health Economics & Market Access strategy and execution across the United Kingdom scope within DePuy Synthes. The role is responsible for shaping access strategy, leading payer and HTA engagement, and ensuring successful reimbursement and adoption of innovative orthopaedic solutions in line with DePuy Synthes and EMEA priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead HEMA strategy for the United Kingdom aligned with EMEA and DePuy Synthes priorities.
• Lead engagement with national and regional HTA and payer stakeholders and shape optimal access pathways (e.g., NICE, NHS England,).
• Lead NICE, NHS England and devolved nation access strategies, ensuring alignment to local processes and timelines.
• Own evidence generation and value demonstration strategies including development of robust value dossiers and submissions.
• Support value cases for outpatient, efficiency and pathway-based innovation, aligned to NHS transformation and productivity agendas.
• Anticipate reimbursement, pricing, and policy risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure effective deployment of health economic tools, value assets and training to enable internal stakeholders and strengthen field activation.
• Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Medical/Clinical and Regulatory teams to develop and execute market access and reimbursement strategies across the product lifecycle
• Monitor execution against HEMA priorities and business objectives, ensuring alignment to agreed plans, milestones and governance expectations.
• This role may take on direct responsibility for a priority and strategic business at EMEA regional level, defined according to EMEA needs, ensuring HEMA strategy and execution align with business priorities and performance objectives
• Ensure compliance with applicable quality, ethics and local regulatory requirements, consistent with EMEA HEMA standards.

Scope & Impact

Strategic responsibility for HEMA outcomes across the United Kingdom (NICE, NHS England) scope, with high autonomy and material impact on market access success, innovation adoption and revenue sustainability. This role also holds direct responsibility for a priority and strategic business at EMEA regional level (defined according to EMEA needs), ensuring HEMA strategy and execution align with business priorities, performance objectives, and value delivery expectations.

Qualifications

Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in Health Economics, Public Health, Life Sciences or related field.
7+ years of experience in HEMA or Market Access roles, including leadership of complex national or multi-country strategies.
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and external decision-makers.
