Head of Medical Engineering / EBME

Location: North West

Salary: £63,000 – £78,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent | 37.5 hours per week

We are recruiting for an experienced Head of Medical Engineering / EBME to provide strategic and operational leadership of a significant Medical Engineering service within a complex healthcare environment.

This senior position will take responsibility for the delivery, performance and continued development of the EBME service, ensuring medical devices are managed safely, effectively and in accordance with relevant regulatory and governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction across the Medical Engineering / EBME service.

Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of managers, specialist Medical Engineers and support staff.

*

Oversee medical device governance, risk, compliance and quality management.

*

Lead medical equipment asset management, maintenance, lifecycle and replacement planning.

*

Manage departmental budgets, financial performance and resources.

*

Oversee procurement, supplier and contract management activity.

*

Drive service improvement, transformation and increased efficiency.

*

Monitor performance, KPIs and compliance, providing assurance to senior stakeholders.

*

Support the development and implementation of long-term medical device strategies.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Medical Engineering, Clinical Engineering or EBME leader with:

*

Significant experience in the technical evaluation and management of medical devices.

*

Experience managing technically qualified engineering teams.

*

Strong knowledge of medical device legislation, governance and compliance.

*

Experience across budget management, HR, performance management and service redesign.

*

Substantial NHS clinical equipment management experience or equivalent relevant technical experience.

*

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
