We are looking for Food Contact and Regulatory Affairs Supervisor - EMEA (m/w/d).

The position is located in Bodelshausen/DE, directly reporting to Manager Food Contact Regulatory Affairs, Packaging Coatings, EMEA.

The Packaging Coatings business unit is a key supplier to the metal packaging industry. Many of the products sold are for direct food contact applications and many others are for in-direct food contact uses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate food contact compliance documentation for customers and brand owners in a timely fashion across the EMEA region.
  • Work with raw material suppliers to secure the appropriate food contact raw material status documentation is provided.
  • Upload raw material data into appropriate corporate or packaging coatings databases/systems.
  • Co-ordinate food contact testing activities with 3rd party test institutes including liaison with the technical teams, reviewing draft food contact test reports.
  • Develop strategic relationships with raw material suppliers, key customers and brand owner regulatory specialists.
  • Represent PPG on food contact and safety matters with 3rd party consultants e.g. law firms, test institutes, trade associations etc.
  • Act as an internal advisor/consultant for Packaging technical and development teams on raw material selection and product testing to demonstrate compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Chemistry with a working knowledge of polymers and analytical methods e.g. LC/GC chromatography
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a chemical industry and/or 5 years' experience in a coatings food contact or product stewardship functional area
  • Experience with food contact regulatory requirements in EMEA and strategies to demonstrate compliance
  • Working knowledge of food contact regulations in other regions
  • Strong written communication skills - essential for generating compliance documentation and other communiques up and down the supply chain and with other 3rd parties.
  • Supervisory capability for small teams, including training, staff development and engagement etc.
