Overview

We are seeking a Clinical Engineer, preferably with several years experience in the NHS, to join the team at Dorset County Hospital. We will prioritise candidates with such experience over those with formal academic qualifications, however we are willing to consider those with less experience for an initial appointment at Band 4.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake the repair, maintenance and repair of high value electronic and mechanical devices and equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Order parts and accessories for medical devices and equipment.
  • Monitor and rotate stock levels to ensure minimal wastage.
  • Review working practices, advise on changes and suggest efficiency improvements.
  • Co‑ordinate external training on new equipment to clinical/nursing staff, assist departments and wards in maintaining training records, and update F2 with details of the training received.

Qualifications & Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with NHS experience in clinical engineering. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the repair, maintenance and stock management of medical devices.
