Business Development Manager - MedTech LogisticsHybrid - Woking | UK & European travel
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a proven track record of winning new business within logistics, freight, transport, supply chain or specialist distribution services.
This is a genuine new-business sales role. You will identify prospects, develop opportunities and manage complex, solution-led sales from initial contact through to signed contract.
Experience within MedTech, healthcare, diagnostics, life sciences or other specialist/high-care logistics environments would be highly advantageous. However, proven logistics sales experience is the primary requirement.
The RoleYou will join our growing MedTech division, helping win new customers across medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences and laboratory equipment.
Our solutions include specialist logistics, white-glove delivery, installation, storage and lifecycle management services, so this is not a transactional sales role. You will need to understand complex customer requirements, engage multiple stakeholders and build commercially viable solutions with our operational teams.
Your focus will be predominantly on new customer acquisition and strategic growth rather than day-to-day account management.
What You'll Be Doing- Identify and target new business opportunities across MedTech, healthcare, diagnostics, life sciences and related sectors.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Generate new business through direct prospecting, networking, LinkedIn, industry events, partnerships and referrals.
- Secure meetings with senior stakeholders across Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Service and Commercial functions.
- Understand customer logistics, distribution and operational challenges through discovery meetings and site visits.
- Develop tailored, solution-led proposals in collaboration with operational and technical teams.
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, pricing submissions and tender responses.
- Manage opportunities through longer, more complex sales cycles.
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations through to signed contract.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline information and forecasts.
- Represent the business at relevant exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
- Support the successful handover and onboarding of new customers.
What We're Looking ForYou will need:
- Proven experience selling logistics, freight, transport, supply-chain or specialist distribution services.
- You should also be able to demonstrate:
- A strong track record of winning new B2B customers.
- Genuine new-business development and prospecting capability.
- Experience managing complex, consultative sales cycles from initial contact through to contract.
- Confidence selling operational or solution-led services rather than simple products.
- Strong commercial, presentation and negotiation skills.
- The ability to engage credibly with senior decision-makers and multiple stakeholders.
- A disciplined approach to pipeline development, CRM and forecasting.
- The resilience and persistence required to develop longer-term opportunities.
- Experience within MedTech, healthcare logistics, medical devices, diagnostics, laboratory equipment, life sciences, technical services or another specialist/high-care environment would be a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of white-glove logistics, installation services, asset management, regulated environments or European healthcare markets would also be beneficial.
Working PatternThis is a UK-based hybrid role and you must be able to commute to Woking as required.
The position will also involve regular travel throughout the UK and occasional European travel for customer meetings, site visits, exhibitions and business development activities.
What Success Looks LikeSuccess will mean consistently creating qualified new opportunities, developing a healthy sales pipeline and converting complex customer requirements into profitable new contracts.
