The Opportunity of Account Manager / Manufacturer's Representative, Medical Capital Equipment
This is a perfect role for a technical sales professional wanting to progress their commercial sales skills and step into a high-value, relationship-driven commercial role. Our client is a market-leading manufacturer of medical equipment, renowned for innovation and excellence. We are seeking a proactive, commercially sharp Account Manager / Manufacturer's Representative to manage, expand, and convert a high-value pipeline across NHS and private hospital networks. All sales are indirect through distribution/channel, but this is a front-line sales role where you will increase sales in tandem with your distribution partners.
This is a unique hybrid role where you will act as the crucial conduit between our high-performing distributor network, our internal technical experts, and clinical end-users. Working directly alongside a Sales Manager who is a renowned coach and mentor, you will receive world-class 1:1 training to become a true product expert and elevate your commercial skillset.
What's in It for You?
- £42,500 base salary plus a dedicated car allowance, mileage, and a highly generous pension scheme.
- Extensive, structured 1:1 training over your first six months covering products, the healthcare marketplace, and advanced consultative selling.
- A modern benefits package including the ability to 'purchase' extra annual leave, cycle-to-work schemes, and excellent lifestyle perks.
- A genuine platform to scale your commercial acumen, taking ownership of a market-leading manufacturing brand's dealer network.
What You'll Be Doing as Account Manager / Manufacturer's Representative, Medical Capital Equipment
- This position balances strategic office-based pipeline management with extensive field-based activity across the UK, alongside occasional travel to Europe and Asia.
- You will act as the face of the manufacturer to support, coach, and raise the capability of distributors across the UK through structured training and joint field activity.
- You will proactively manage and convert capital equipment opportunities ranging from £30,000 to £150,000 (up to £300,000) within NHS and private clinical environments.
- You will deliver high-impact product demonstrations, manage equipment trials, and close deals alongside your distributor partners.
- You will utilise your exceptional written communication skills to respond to complex NHS/private tenders, draft training notes, and build compelling presentations.
- You will seamlessly bridge the gap between distributor requirements and your internal technical team to ensure flawless project delivery.
What We Are Looking For
- We need a "sponge for information", someone who takes proactive ownership of their own learning, craves product expertise, and possesses the technical aptitude to master complex medical ranges.
- 3-5 years of proven sales experience, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Must have experience selling medical devices, medical equipment, capital equipment, or high-value technical solutions into clinical/hospital environments.
- Experience managing, training, or joint-selling with distributors or channel partners is highly desirable.
- Exceptional telephone manner and flawless writing skills for tenders and presentations, paired with strong face-to-face demonstration capabilities.
- Proficient with CRM systems. A full UK driving licence is required, along with a willingness to travel extensively across the UK and occasionally internationally.
