Team – Executive Office
Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

Strategic oversight and executive management of Vitality's Medical Affairs, Medical Underwriting, Technical Claims and Medical Fraud departments. Comprehensive responsibility for the financial health and optimisation of the claims Profit & Loss (P&L) for the entire health business division. To provide senior clinical oversight, clinical product design in conjunction with other areas.
Key Actions

Strategic leadership: Management, leadership, and development of the clinical and healthcare team at Vitality, a team of over 140, including technical experts educated up to postgraduate level
Commercial and financial performance: Accountable for management, performance, and value of claims fund of £400m spend per annum
Transformation and savings: Drive an largescale improvement agenda and identification and delivery of £70m+ of savings per year
Strategy and execution: Accountability for definition, delivery and continuous refinement of healthcare strategy, across commercial strategy and delivery, operations, data, analytics, medical and clinical affairs, outcomes, and positioning, to position and maintain Vitality as the best insurer
Technical claims management: Strategic and overall accountability for technical claims management, claims leakage, claims optimisation, to drive the automation of claims management and to increase efficiencies.
Specialist oncology performance management and customer oversight: Take ownership of oncology P&L of over £100m including specialist management teams overseeing members with 25%+ of claims spend per year
Claims oversight: Direction and management of the Claims Performance function including auditing teams, rules engine teams, and complex case management teams
Group-wide data and analytics: To work with specialised analytics teams for group claims, operations, and other areas. Accountable for understanding performance and intelligence in healthcare and operations
Specialist technology: Take charge of the team overseeing the rules engine, and other relevant areas, responsible for processing over 100,000 claims per annum
Executive committee and group membership (UK and Global): Membership of Health Exco; Risk Profit Group, Claims MancoWhat do you need to thrive?

Can demonstrate relevant years relevant work experience, with >5 years of board director-level experience in organisations with >£200m turnover per annum  
A broad and deep understanding of the healthcare sector, across funding, delivery, data and analytics, life sciences and medical devices, digital health, and AI 
Proven track record of designing, developing, and implementing strategies in complex, challenging environments 
Proven financial and clinical risk management skills and ability to broadly balance resources and understand complex trade-offs with limited information 
Executive presence, with sufficient gravitas to handle board-level interaction and national-level external stakeholders
Comfort with ambiguity and responsiveness
Highly credible presenter and communicator comfortable with audiences of all sizes and levels
Integrity and commitment to maintaining professional standards and role modelling of leadership behaviours
