The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust includes major teaching hospitals. A wide range of equipment is used for medical work - diagnosis, monitoring, therapy and technical work - throughout its wards, theatres, and clinical departments.

The Clinical Engineering Department delivers high quality medical device maintenance, repair and management services within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join MFT Clinical Engineering Team as Clinical Engineers, providing innovation, support and continuous improvement for our cross-site workshops and IT and database systems and processes.

Our department is accredited to the ISO9001:2015 Quality Standard and is responsible for the management of all types of reusable medical device.

• 
  
• Ensuring efficient and timely maintenance and repair of equipment
  
• Keeping accurate records of all activities
  
• Dealing with clients on a range of medical device management issues
  
• Representing Clinical Engineering in contact with clients as the face of the department
  
• Working mainly at workshops in Manchester Oxford Road, Wythenshawe, North Manchester or Trafford General, with flexibility to work at various hospitals throughout Greater Manchester

• Knowledge of basic scientific and engineering principles
  
• Awareness of Health and Safety legislation
  
• Logical and methodical approach to work
  
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently, with good interpersonal and communication skills
  
• Experience in the field of engineering is advantageous but not essential
  

We will provide a comprehensive induction programme and will appraise you yearly with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.
