Job Description

Bank Decontamination Technician |  Clifton Park Hospital | Bank Hours

The role:

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individual who have already worked within the field of decontamination of re-usable medical devices or who have completed a recognised decontamination course (NVQ/TVQ/Technical Certificate). You will be responsible for the full decontamination cycle on re-usable medical devices (surgical instruments) to the highest of standards, in line within all Ramsay policies and procedures, participating fully in quality control processes ensuring procedures and documentation is completed accurately at all times.

To undertake decontamination duties and assist in providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient.

To carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilization of reusable medical devices. Record all tasks in the Healthcare Science Information Systems (tracking and tracing) database.

To carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilization of reusable medical devices. Record all tasks in the Information Systems (tracking and tracing) database.

Work in accordance with the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.

To provide supervision to Apprentice/Trainee Decontamination Technicians within the team.

Plan your own workload with limited supervision.

To plan and co-ordinate the activity of a shift as required in the absence of the Decontamination Technician Supervisor
